Ever wonder who wrote “Sitting on Top of the World?” Mississippi Sheiks penned over 100 songs in the 1930s populated with characters that walked the razor’s edge between sin and redemption, grace and depravity. Steve Dawson and his all-star band, including blues masters Jim Byrnes, Del Rey and Alvin Youngblood Hart, will bring to life these classic, memorable blues rants and square dance hollers for a marvelous, sublime celebration of formative American 20th-century string band music.
